Award season kicks off in the beginning of 2010, and fashionistas are anticipating the looks celebrities will be wearing to events such as the Oscars, Grammys, and Emmys. Now fans can get closer to the excitement of the red carpet with RedCarpetMVP.com, a free new interactive fantasy fashion game to launch online in January.
RedCarpetMVP.com was created by Erica Salmon, founder of the Fashion Fantasy League, a site she launched in 2005 as “the fashionista’s answer to fantasy football,” she said on the official Red Carpet MVP blog.
Salmon’s site will offer fans the chance to choose their own team of designers and celebrities, and predict who will have the best looks on the red carpet. Users score and rate these looks, and the more a designer and celebrity makes appearances, the more users receive points. Those who score enough points can buy more celebrities and designers for their team and virtual prizes.
Additionally, players can compete against their friends and also choose to compete for only one particular event such as the Grammys, or play daily.
Aspects of Salmon’s former site Fashion Fantasy League will merge with Red Carpet MVP.
Salmon states on her blog, “RedCarpetMVP.com is the new face of Fashion Fantasy League. The game takes the exciting, addictive nature of the core fantasy game and adds so much more. More photos, more interaction, more socializing, more trivia, more prizes and the list goes on!”
Fashion Fantasy League has been featured in Time magazine, Redbook magazine, and the “Today” show.
