Jay-Z told MTV, “I think “We Are the World” is like “Thriller” to me. I don’t ever wanna see it touched,” on his thoughts for the “We Are the World” 25th Anniversary re-recording and Haiti earthquake disaster tribute. The remake includes contributions from Wyclef Jean, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Jennifer Hudson, and others. The interview took place at the “2 Kings” dinner during the NBA All-Star weekend.
Jay-Z, along with Rihanna, Bono and The Edge recorded “Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour)” in tribute as well in an effort to raise funds for disaster relief. Compare the two performances after the jump!
