Even in a recession Tupac’s career is still doing better than yours–film career that is. According to wooha and HHDX, the late Tupac Shakur wrote a screen play titled Live 2 Die while in prison in 1995 for sexual assualt charges and is currently slated for release in 2010. Couldn’t have Biggie stealing all the shine!
The script had been shopped around by mother, Afeni Shakur for the past few years and was picked up by Insomnia Productions, the producers of HBO’s “Rome.”
Here’s a synopsis: “A charismatic young man at the dawn of adulthood spirals down the wrong path in life and is brought into the underworld by his once trusted mentor, only to become one of the most powerful and feared kingpins in the city. Eventually his conscience gets the better of him and he is driven to self redemption in life… and love.”
Sounds like the dwindling music industry hasn’t effected rappers’ careers postmortem.
We couldn’t resist. Here’s D.Chappelle’s video for the song Tupac wrote a really long time ago (in ’94).
