The tale of a woman shopping and crossing paths with her dream dress but then dropping her jaw after glimpsing at the price tag is a story told all too often. To remedy this, Jennifer Hyman and Jennifer Carter Fleiss, two recent Harvard Business School graduates, teamed up to create Rent the Runway, a website that allows people to wear the hottest styles of the season for much cheaper prices. Whether someone wants to go for the classic Beyonce’ evening look or the edgy Angelina Jolie red carpet look, Rent the Runway strives to provide every shopper with her needs.
Once the site address is typed in, a simple yet stylish home page directs customers to three short steps: Love, Wear, Return. Upon browsing through their online collection of top designers, one usually falls in love with a particular dress. Love. Next, schedule a delivery date for the dress and it arrives on one’s doorstep along with an extra size included for free, just in case. Wear. Finally, after attending the soiree, drop the dress in its pre-paid envelope the next day sending it straight to Rent the Runway’s headquarters to be dry-cleaned, on the house! Return.
Those known for being the stylish diva who impresses all of her friends with her glamorous wardrobe, but is going through some temporary financial troubles could put Rent the Runway to work. For those who want to look like the stars that Rachael Zoe styles, but within a budget, Rent the Runway is the perfect fit. Check out the site, www.renttherunway.com, because they are sure it will keep pockets happy, and users in style!
