Rapper Gucci Mane is at the top of his game. As of right now, his Decemburr (his word, not ours) release, The State vs. Radric Davis is the No. 1 rap album in the country.

With 89K units sold in its first week of release, The State has moved into the No. 10 spot in Billboard’s Top 200 album chart. We decided to chart what might just be the formula to Gucci’s success, his lyrical content, but we’ll let you be the judge.

Trey Songz, the king of remixes, teamed up with Gucci Mane and Soulja Boy for the song “LOL.” Ironically, the song fails to produce even a smirk. Songz usually paints his charm on any song with his vocal talent, but working with a teeny bop jingle prevents him from doing so. Honestly, going on about frequent interactions with ‘thirsty’ females through Myspace, texting, and Twitter isn’t the best way to impress the fans that ‘follow’ you.
